PUBMET believes our community should be truly open for everyone. It is of utmost importance to us that each and every person attending our conference and related social events has a positive and rewarding experience and to that end, we invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, media, and others to help us make PUBMET a safe, respectful and positive experience for everyone.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for participant behaviour as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour. We expect all participants to abide by this code of conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events.
PUBMET expects of participants to:
Unacceptable behaviour from any community member will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendee of PUBMET and related social events. All PUBMET venues may be shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated whether by other attendees, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, or other participants of PUBMET.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.
If you are subjected to unacceptable behaviour, notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns during the event, please notify a conference organizer as soon as possible. The Organizing Committee will be available to assist those experiencing unacceptable behaviour to feel safe for the duration of the event. All reports will remain completely confidential.
