Dijana Šobota

Dijana Šobota is a PhD candidate in the Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Her research interests include critical information literacy, critical pedagogy and librarianship, and information behaviour. She endeavours to combine a critical and normative perspective with studies on information literacy in the workplace. Being also a trade unionist and activist, she seeks to promote decent work and explore broader transformative, social justice issues in library and information science. Her doctoral research, under the supervision of Dr Sonja Špiranec, aims to conceptualise the ‘critical workplace information literacy’ construct from a multidomain position, bridging two theoretical frameworks and information literacy subdomains, critical information literacy and workplace information literacy, guided by the question of how critical information literacy can empower workers attain decent work.
